I’m happy to say that our eyed eggs arrived safely, have hatched, and are developing nicely. As you can see, the students are excited about their arrival. While they are still in the Alevin stage, they are growing quickly.
Since I am in the science lab, all of my students grades K-5 get to witness this exciting adventure first hand. Many did not know what a trout was before I introduced this program into the classroom.
The first thing they inquire about when they enter the lab, “Can we see the trout?” As they directly observe the life cycle of these trout they become connected to these fish. I expect that their involvement with this program will be meaningful.
I look forward to educating them about the value of clean freshwater streams and rivers. Just like a parent, we anxiously await their next stage of development.
